Hello and Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the new St Mary’s Catholic Primary School website!

Tuesday 24th March 2020

Despite being closed to all but children of keyworkers, we are still enjoying learning and making the most of the sunshine. Today’s song as suggested by Mrs Beaven, is Mr Blue Sky by the Electric Light Orchestra.

Wednesday 25th March 2020

Today’s song is ‘Can’t stop the feeling’ by Justin Timberlake. How about learning the lyrics or making up a dance to this song so you can impress us when you return?

Thursday 26th March 2020

The song of the day is ‘Brighter Days’ by Sigala. The lyrics sum up what we are all hoping and praying for!

I can see the brighter days
I can see the sun breaking through those clouds
Heaven knows we’re all afraid
But we just keep holding on
For the brighter days

Monday 30th March 2020

It is still sunny today so have a listen to ‘Walking on sunshine’ by Katrina and The Waves. The school feels quite empty but we are still having fun with Cosmic Yoga and obstacle courses on the field. Take care and stay safe!

Monday 6th April 2020

We have six children in school today and, as we are officially in the Easter holidays, we have some exciting and fun activities for them to enjoy. This morning Miss Breese and Mr Eyres are painting a very special banner with our key stage two children and Miss Stevenson and Mrs Kanik are leading Easter craft activities as well as Cosmic Yoga! This afternoon Mrs Hesleton is coming in to lead a music afternoon for the children. It is hard to form a band when you have to be two metres away from each other but we will try! Holy Week starts today so we will keep praying for each other throughout the day. Today’s top tune is ‘Lord I need you’ by Matt Maher.

Monday 20th April

I hope you all had a lovely Easter and you can enjoy the sunshine on your daily exercise! Mrs Beaven has been working hard on the children’s liturgies and there is lots to see by following this link: https://www.bognorcatholicparish.co.uk/kids-church.html. Father Chris can be seen on You tube saying Mass: www.youtube.com/channel/UCiRPATIIoIsUNPUGt5k6V-g and celebrating the new Easter season. Plenty of you have been working hard on your home learning and it is fantastic to see so many ideas on our Facebook page – St Mary’s Catholic Primary School Bognor Home Learning. Take care and enjoy being with your families – today’s song is ‘Search for the Hero’ by M People.

Thursday 30th April

We are coming to the end of another week in lockdown and the weather has certainly changed for the worse! I am so pleased to hear that so many of you have been working hard on the Home Learning tasks – the teachers love receiving work from you and hearing about what you are doing. Next week we are hoping to begin Class Meetings using Zoom so you will be able to see your class-teacher and talk to them about your work. Before the meeting, find a piece of work you are particularly proud of so you can ‘show and tell’ your class mates. If you have any questions about work you will have the chance to ask them during the meeting. We will send your parents the link to the meeting so they can help you to prepare. In the meantime, enjoy the weekend and take care! Today’s song is ‘Times like These’ by the Live Lounge Allstars – a very good cause but if you want to hear the original, (which is definitely worth it), it is by the Foo Fighters.
