Paying it Forward

Mar 10, 2025 | News

In our whole school assembly recently, St Maximilian Kolbe house captains presented their winning house donation to Mount Noddy Rescue Centre, the local branch of the RSPCA. Alexander and Sofia had researched different charities, given a presentation to their house about three and then held a vote. Chris, from Mount Noddy, came in to tell us a little bit about the work that they do and shared some very cute pictures of the dogs and cats they help. Each house earns house points. Each half term the winning house gets to wear their own clothes as a reward and, as part of our Catholic Social Teaching, the children get to pay their hard work and good choices forward. The way we do this is through voting for a charity that the winning house would like to give a donation of £25.00 to.

The following week, we had a visit from Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice, who spoke to us in assembly about the wonderful work they do. The St Mother Teresa house captains then presented them with a cheque for their winning house donation also.
