Spirituality Week 2021

Sep 17, 2021 | News

Staff and children all enjoyed taking part in Spirituality Week. The Stations of the Cross on the field were the focal point for the week, and proved a poignant experience for children as they journeyed around the field on a pilgrimage, reflecting on Jesus’s journey to the cross. This led to thoughtful and moving work in classes based on both the Stations of the Cross, and also the scripture for the day. Classes took part in creative writing, liturgical dance, drama and a range of artwork based on the week. We thoroughly enjoyed the class assemblies during the week, where it was wonderful to see whole school worship led by the children again, even if by Zoom, a new experience! I very much enjoyed going round to all the classes so that the children could share their spirituality creative homework with me; so much effort went into it and there were some truly wonderful and very thoughtful pieces of work. A huge thank you to you all for taking time at home to make the week even more meaningful. I am always amazed at what wonderfully creative ideas you all have!

We are very grateful to Wintershall for their kind gift of resources to support Spirituality Week, and also to our premises officer Mr Robinson for erecting the three crosses on the field.
