Families are warmly invited to our Deanery Advent Service, to be held on Wednesday 4th December at 6.45pm in Arundel Cathedral. This is a great start to the season of Advent and is also a chance to share the season of Advent with our fellow Catholic schools in the Deanery. It is expected that all children in Regis, Hotham and Wheatland classes will attend; families are also warmly invited to attend. Children in year groups lower down the school are of course welcome too but will need to sit with their families.
The children will need to wear smart school uniform, including their school jumper/cardigan, and arrive at the Cathedral at 6.15pm to be seated in our allocated area of the Cathedral. The service is expected to finish by 7.45pm at the latest.
This year it is the turn of St Richards in Chichester to organise the service. They have chosen to support MARY’S MEALS, a wonderful charity that is helping to transform the lives of children by setting up school feeding programmes in some of the world’s poorest communities, where hunger and poverty prevent children from gaining an education. By coming to school and receiving a free meal each day the children are also receiving an education.
In order to raise money for this very worthwhile cause we would like to invite ALL children (Early Years, KS1 and KS2) to wear non-uniform on Friday 22rd November in return for bringing in £1. Further fundraising activities will be organised by the RE Council on the day.
