We would like to thank everyone who has kindly donated items to help us improve our Sensory Room at School. We still have a way to go, eventually we hope to give the room a complete overhaul, but for now your donations have enabled us to give it a much needed makeover to help enhance the children’s enjoyment of the space!
Having access to a Sensory Room in school is hugely beneficial to a number of our children. It is a therapeutic space which creates a sense of calm and comfort away from their regular learning environment. A sensory room can help children learn to self-regulate their behaviours which can ultimately improve their focus. Time in a sensory room can help children improve their visual, auditory and tactile processing as well as fine and gross motor skills.
