St Mary’s attended the Big Sing this week which was held at the Regis School. Mrs Morreale led our choir and they performed beautifully.
This was the first Big Sing in 3 years due to Covid restrictions, so it was wonderful to be able to get together with other local schools for such a lovely event once again.
The children all had lots of fun, and this is what Harriett in year 6 had to say about it:
Wednesday was a jam packed day, full of great songs and laughter. Our main focus was the Lion King and musicals. We had a great time, although one of our songs ‘I just can’t wait to be King’ was the wrong backing track but we kept singing and we got a massive applause!
There were so many schools there, the arena was a rainbow of jumpers, it was amazing. We all sang ’Circle of Life’ together which is a hard African song, but a teacher from the Regis school helped us and it sounded incredible! We all enjoyed it so much and saw loads of friends from other schools, encouraged each other and sang along. The last thing to mention is that we have not done a Big Sing for 3 whole years so it was extra special!
